Is it normal for a teenage girl to gain weight?

I am 14, almost 15, and I am really athletic and I have a fast metabolism. I eat anything I want, but I always work it off since I play sports a lot. I was wondering, is it normal for some extra weight/fat to occur around your belly area? I just want to know if I should let this fix itself, or if I should exercise this weight off. most girls get the fat staying in the belly area. it's normal. it is said that women really are created to have more fats in this area to help them prepare for motherhood. fats are needed because they are stored energy. when a woman gets pregnant, the stored up energy (fats) is used.





it is normal to gain weight. actually, every year, every person gains an average of 2 lbs.





since your metabolism is fast (and that's great), you can continue on your activities. remember, your body is changing and it starts taking the shape of a grown up woman already.
Sounds like you are taking in more than you are burning off. And yes it is normal for a teenage girl to gain weight. If the excess belly fat bothers you, then exercise it off. And also eat less fattening things. Just because you work out a lot doesn't mean you can pig out. You have to watch what you eat in order to stay in shape.
Yeah, that belly fat is NORMAL. It's not fashionable to have it, as girls are supposed to look like boys with breasts, but actually all women have it. It's there to support a possible pregnancy in case you don't get enough to eat.

Cut back a bit on what you eat, at least the fattier things. They can still be bad for your arteries.





Weight gain is because you can't quite burn off all you eat.
It's not fat probably. It's just your body's natural shape starting to emerge. Most young women have a little tummy. It's quite endearing really.
It's very normal. Girls usually grom wider during adolensence.
