What can I do help my teenage son insure he has rights to his child?

My son (a senior in high school) and his girlfriend are going to have a baby, due in September. Her family, her dad is a Pastor, is telling him he will not have rights to the child and won't be able to spend time with it for 6 months to a year. We all know that is hogwash, but what can we do to solidfy my sons rights? Any ideas? What can I do help my teenage son insure he has rights to his child?
Contact a lawyer, you can bet the dear old pastor will want his daughter to have child support. What can I do help my teenage son insure he has rights to his child?
This is so easy...go to court.

There! You're welcome!
If she doesnt put his name on the birth certificate (she doesnt have too) then he will need to file for a paternity test in family court. He(you) will have to pay for the test, it is a few hundred usually.

Once he has been established as the father (or if she does put his name on the birth certificate) he can file for custody/visitation in family court.

Used to work in child welfare.
Contact your lawyer. Get started now on visitation rights. Be prepared that your son will need to pay child support. Also make sure that your son will indeed be good to the child...if he truly wants to be a part of the childs life that is great but he needs to always always be there...not just because its neat or when its convenient. Take them to court and get it in writing how the custody will fall.
You must go to the family court and formally apply for custody or joint-custody. She may or have given her parents custody, but that does not affect his rights. It should definalty be on the record though.

I'm glad to hear that you are helping him do the right thin. I think more fathers would assert their rights if it wasn't so hard or if they new how. Good Luck, the child deserves to spend time with both parents.
If he's on the birth certificate - he will have rights. If they don't put him on the birth certificate, he can force a DNA test to establish paternity - and once that's done he will be entitled to have rights - regardless of what the parents say. If it has to go all the way to family court - they will rule that he has ';X'; days with the baby, and establish what his rights are. Then the family will be forced to comply under penalty of law.

That's really sad....and I'm sorry your family has to go through this. You would think that a pastor of all people would understand the importance of family and the important role that a father has in a child's life....good luck!
Talk with your family lawyer or a lawyer anyway - your son will need to pay child support and can get that set up before the child is born then he has rights to the baby. If she says that she is breast feeding the baby the court may make him wait or only have visitation when the mother is there.
Go to court.. fight for your rights
Take it to court and get a custody agreement drawn up. If he is going to be helping to support the child, he should get time with the child. If he can work something out with his girlfriend, without the courts being involved, that would be better. Something in writing though, so it's legal.
Get a lawyer because every father needs to see their baby no matter what. I believe her father is pissed off that his daughter is pregnant and young! GET A LAWYER..
You can file family court papers now (before the baby is born). This will ensure that the mother (his girlfriend) doesn't leave the area, and that a paternity test is done when the child is born. If the child is his, he will be placed on the birth certificate and the court (or mediator) will decide on a ';parenting schedule'; . Your son may not be able to have over nights with the newborn right away, especially if the mother opts to nurse, but he will definitely have the opportunity for visitations to establish a bond with the child which would later lead to overnights. He will automatically be given joint legal custody and with time joint physical.
have him insist on a paternity test then sign the paternity papers and have his name on the birth certificate. I would contact a lawyer so it will be settled before baby gets here. the laws about paternity vary from state to state, so getting a lawyer is your best bet. Also the paternity test, to me, is a given. You don't want him legally binded to a child that is not his.
It is really important that you get a lawyer right away so that he doesn't miss out on any time at the beginning of the child's life. The law protects him and he can help himself if he gets a job and shows some responsibility.

Good luck.
get your self an attorney, and make sure he is on the birth certificate. also, you can go to child support, he might have to pay, but he will have a legal right to his child and they will enforce visitations.

good luck!
if she is breastfeeding it may only be possible for him to spend time with the baby with her there as 1st coz the baby will really need her, then progress onto him taking the baby for short visits.

As a breastfeeding mother ive read about some court cases %26amp; the minimum visits ive heard about for a responsible father was 1hr at a time until 12months then 5hrs after 12months. Don't expect overnights until at *least* 2years.

Read up on attachment as well as his rights, you really need to do whats best for the baby.
First, like others, I recommend going to a lawyer. Second, even though he feels sure it is his, have a paternity test done. It looks good in court and shows them that he is the actual father. Third, make sure he actually wants to be involved and feels he can handle the responsibilty........maybe that one should be first since you don't want to hand out all that money if he doesn't. Fourth, if he truly wants this child, he's going to have to show the courts he's responsible enough. And he's going to need your support. It would look really good in court if he started giving her money now, and keeping track of what he gives her to go toward the expenses of doctors visits and pregnancy clothes, and baby items. He should also start preparing and getting baby items himself for his house. I know this sounds like alot, but it's truly worth it if he does want to have visitation with this child.

Fifth, he should try to keep in contact with her, and only ask questions about the child, and keep a journal about it all. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Some states have what is called a putative father registry. He should add his name to it so that his interest in the pregnancy is established. Contact the state department of health.

What are some negative effects of Teenage Pregnancy?

I am 16 years old and my boyfriend is 19. As of right now, i think i maybe be pregnant. Although, i have yet to find out for certain. Our plan was not to get pregnant at all, but unfortunately, i think we failed on that aspect.

I need someone to explain to me what the first signs would be, how soon they would start and if there are any effects on the baby since i am still so young? What are some negative effects of Teenage Pregnancy?
im 17 and my b/f is 20 16 and 19 is no big deal, I am also pregnant about 6 weeks along. First you need to get on some prenatial vitimins, go to you ob/gyn and get some they will do a pregnancy test for you as well

Implantation Bleeding:

Implantation bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. About 6-12 days after conception, the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall. Some women will experience spotting as well as some cramping.

Other Explanations: Actual menstruation, altered menstruation, changes in birth control pill, infection, or abrasion from intercourse.

Delay/Difference in Menstruation:

A delayed or missed menstruation is the most common pregnancy symptom leading a woman to test for pregnancy. When you become pregnant, your next period should be missed. Many women can bleed while they are pregnant, but typically the bleeding will be shorter or lighter than a normal period.

Other Explanations: Excessive weight gain/loss, fatigue, hormonal problems, tension, stress, ceasing to take the birth control pill, or breast-feeding.

Swollen/Tender Breasts:

Swollen or tender breasts is a pregnancy symptom which may begin as early as 1-2 weeks after conception. Women may notice changes in their breasts; they may be tender to the touch, sore, or swollen.

Other Explanations: Hormonal imbalance, birth control pills, impending menstruation (PMS) can also cause your breasts to be swollen or tender.

Fatigue/Tiredness:

Feeling fatigued or more tired is a pregnancy symptom which can also start as early as the first week after conception.

Other Explanations: Stress, exhaustion, depression, common cold or flu, or other illnesses can also leave you feeling tired or fatigued.

Nausea/Morning Sickness:

This well-known pregnancy symptom will often show up between 2-8 weeks after conception. Some women are fortunate to not deal with morning sickness at all, while others will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Food poisoning, stress, or other stomach disorders can also cause you to feel queasy.

Backaches:

Lower backaches may be a symptom that occurs early in pregnancy; however, it is common to experience a dull backache throughout an entire pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Impending menstruation, stress, other back problems, and physical or mental strains.

Headaches:

The sudden rise of hormones in your body can cause you to have headaches early in pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Dehydration, caffeine withdrawal, impending menstruation, eye strain, or other ailments can be the source of frequent or chronic headaches.

Frequent Urination:

Around 6-8 weeks after conception, you may find yourself making a few extra trips to the bathroom.

Other Explanations: Urinary tract infection, diabetes, increasing liquid intake, or taking excessive diuretics.

Darkening of Areolas:

If you are pregnant, the skin around your nipples may get darker.

Other Explanations: Hormonal imbalance unrelated to pregnancy or may be a leftover effect from a previous pregnancy.

Food Cravings:

While you may not have a strong desire to eat pickles and ice cream, many women will feel cravings for certain foods when they are pregnant. This can last throughout your entire pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Poor diet, lack of a certain nutrient, stress, depression, or impending menstruation.

you start to get symtoms around 6-8 weeks along sometimes sooner sometimes later, I started geting symptoms around 5 weeks

congrats !!! =)What are some negative effects of Teenage Pregnancy?
Because of your age, there is a chance your baby could be born prematurely...but that's about as far as the physical differences go.

It's probably for the social stigma that affects pregnant teens emotionally, than anything physical.

Thankfully, I haven't been judged much, except for a few 'welfare baby' comments in the past.

Just silly!

I hate people who use Welfare because they are too lazy to get a job too...don't get me wrong...but I'm tired of people thinking it's me!

I have a job..not a great one...but I'm proud I don't live off taxpayers.

The first signs would be a missed period, sore breasts etc, which would probably start around the tie your period was due.
how dare u say that windmill jouster. IT ISNT WRONG TO HAVE A BABY YOUNG U NO. god people like u really piss me off.

I am 20 and i have a 8 month old little girl and she was the best thing that ever happened to me yes its hard but the gd things are priceless

The only advice i can give u is relax and sit down as much as u can when u feel like u need to in pregnancy u need to listen to wat ur body is telling u.

good luck and dont listen to little shits who moan about it,
16 and 19? If you are pregant I'm not sure if that's even legal.

The first sign would probably a positive pregnancy test a week after your period was suppose to come. Morning sickness comes a little later and little things come in the first 3 months. As long as you are eatting well, not stressing and taking good care of yourself (not smoking, drinking, partying etc.) you should be okay. The doctor who you go to for check ups during pregnancy known as prenatal care will keep track of your pregnancy so don't worry.

since youre still young and developing you might have complications at birth, my boyfriends sister is 18 and just had her baby 2 days ago, she was all set to go but during the delivery they found her pelvis was too small and it was putting stress on the baby so they had to have a c section. she and i are the same size im just a little taller and the dr said that i might run into the same or similar problems(im 19 and 23 w4d)

other than that if you take good care of yourself throughout the pregnancy, assuming you are, then there shouldnt be any problems.
im 18 and pregnant, i noticed i wanted to sleep through my classes, i had to pee a lot, i burped a lot too which is weird, im breaking out that doesnt happen to me, no your baby will be fine :) good luck!
The biggest negative effect I can think of is that we ( the taxpayers ) will quite possibly end up paying the tab for your medical care and feeding your kid.
did you get your period late?

If so you are pregnant

Does sex ed work or do teenage girls still have no fear of getting pregnant?

Not sure why teenage pregnancies are still so common.Does sex ed work or do teenage girls still have no fear of getting pregnant?
Girls think the unconditional love is good. They are stupid and think having a baby will make their life all better. They don't take in account anything. Not the selfish act of putting financial strain and pressue onto their parents, not the part about trapping the boyfriend and making him feel responsible. They think they can get a job and it will be simple as that. They don't think about the month to month purchases or the stuff to buy before. They don't think about the day care needed for them to go to work. They assume they can move out, and it will be all happy and smiles.

They purposely get pregnant, and learn the wrong way. Does sex ed work or do teenage girls still have no fear of getting pregnant?
For some sex ed does work, or maybe it is just they don't want to have sex. Even if they do use condoms they are not 100% effective.

Nikki: I was pregnant at 17 and I knew all about condoms and birth control, I don't deny it or try to make excuses about it. You can call me irresponsible all you want but deciding to have my child was the best think I ever did. I also read your profile and I must say you have no problem telling your opinion about anything do you. FYI I was not a $lutty kid poppin out babies. I know who my babies daddy is, he is now my husband and is asleep just a few feet away. Oh yeah I was pregnant again at 19, with the same dad, so I guess in your opinion I didn't learn my lesson and I am a $lut.

If you was not referring to all teens you would have said some teens believe this or some teens are looking for excuses. But it doesn't matter and that's ok because I am so happy with my life. I did read it. You gave your opinion and I gave mine, what's wrong with that. I don't have to agree with you on your opinion's and I have the right to state my own. I'm not getting pissy it sounds like you are though.
well i'm thinking sex ed isn't working cuz there teaching Absence only , and i also think yes i'm gonna say it .. TV has alot to do with it , the over usage of sex On tv and the unrealistic teen pg shown on tv and unrealistic sex on tv with no protection ect ,,

I have a daughter and i was SO happy when i found out i was pg but then when she was 2 weeks old , never sleeping crying and i was tired i thought differently , I loved my daughter but a child is stressful and hard ..
Here see these links they answer your question.

The problem with Uk and us sex ed is its crap.

Its like me giving you a 5 minute driving lesson saying thats the turywheel and the go faster and slower pedals, no be good and heres the keys then wondering why you crash.

PROPER SEX ED IS LIKE WHAT THEY DO IN THE NETHERLANDS.

NONE OF THIS ONE HOUR NONSENSE WHEN YOU ARE AGED 13.

They start EVERY WEEK from age 5 till 18 (100s of hours) in sex and relationships lessons with all the youthg clubs and media support... You get no Headlines like teacher sacked for telling a kid what a BJ is.

There its on the national curriculum

With realistic and openly explict carttons and other material showing sex not from a biological angle but an emotional one.

With all the dating, kissing and snuggling and foreplay.

No embarrasment, awkardness, fear of asking grown ups or any need to ask playground bs.

by 14 we are talking sex shop field trips to discuss all the products.

Understanding what attracts guys and girls to each other...

You name it its covered and most before any uk kid is and the kids behave and are relaxed lesson seeing an explicti description and video on female masterbation no different to a maths lesson

The statistica in the links below say it all and get the Lets Talk Sex documentry
They will deny having sex ed. Haha, but in reality I think they are looking for a way to justify getting pregnant.

In all honesty, what person who knows about sex, doesn't know about condoms and birth control? They go hand in hand. They know everything, they just don't want to admit it so it doesn't look as bad.

Teens seem to think that 'pulling out' really works. Hah! Goes to show how much they know..they're pregnant! hahahah

finetigersgod, if you were so happy with your life, why are you getting so offended at my opinion? you obviously don't understand what I meant. I hate how people read that and think ';OH! I GOT PREGNANT! She must be making fun of me 0mgz oh no!'; get over it. I'm not referring to every teen who has gotten pregnant. Does it say that? No, it doesn't. READ IT before you get pissy.

Of course i'm getting pissy, you're assuming that I said something I never said. Don't flatter yourself, none of my opinions are directed at you, stop thinking they are. This question was about TEENAGERS. so therefore, I said teenagers. Get over yourself. Telling me about your life and how you have kids isn't an opinion. It's trying to prove me wrong, when in reality, I'm not. This wasn't a bash at any teen mothers, it's just talking about how teens try and justify their pregnancies(which it seems like you're trying to do as well.)
omg i was in this assembly and they had a play of this guy and some other teenagers but they looked older but they were in a play and he had human papilloma virus and omg its was so disgusting the doctor was all like genital warts!! wtf GROSS it was so nasty and uncomfortable for me that the teacher was like are you ok and i was like no and she took me away i was like thank you god becaus im in 11th grade im 16 yrs old and i honestly feel like this is just too much information for me you know?? like i feel like im not ready for this because i dont care and i dont want to know i dont have any interest in having sex so why should i be put through this?? its like i felt like a 10 yr old learning about sex and it just was so bad for me because they dont get that im still a kid i dont need to know about this stuff i felt so grossed out by it and very thankful that she helped me thank you god!!
I think it is because they aren't getting enough love from home. Or they just have issues. And they for some reason they think that having a baby will help fix their life. Whether it be having someone to love you back unconditionally or having to forget your problems and try to raise your child better than you were raised. I honestly think that they just don't totally comprehend the consequences of having a child so young.
Like all things I think that it depends on the person. I was pregnant at 18 but I had several smarter friends who remained virgins the whole way through high school. But look at other things anti-drug programs, anti-smoking ads, those things never work for everyone.
I learned about it all in health class and I'm now terrified of getting HIV and all the other STDs. So I think it worked for me. But even if I never had that I'm smart enough not to just sleep around.
In the US the abstinence based sex ed does not work, In europe the facts + contraception results in less than 1/2 the teen pregnancies.
I think they need to teach better. I have had two friends with babies. But most of my friends get regular check ups and use condoms. So I do think that some of it does sink it.
honestly my sex ed class did nothing except show gross images of STDs and the birth of a baby and how sex ruined people's lives.
if you can't handle a child, don't have sex.
No.
no
there has always been teen pregnancy so u sound kinda stupid and there always will be

Whats a solution to the problem teenage drunk driving?

I have to write an essay about teenage drunk driving. Why its a problem and whats a good solution.

Whats a good thesis?Whats a solution to the problem teenage drunk driving?
The problem is that it can put innocent people at risk for their lives and the quality of their lives including the driver. There should be a designated driver who does Not drink at all while out at a party or club and is sober and competent to drive to the proper destination.

  • How can you tell if a teenage boy fancies you?

Im 13 and there is this boy in my form he is also one of my best friends. Everybody always wants hugs of him (his other best mates) but he always wants a hug of me and whenever he chooses where to sit it next to me. Now everyone tells me he fancies me are they right and what should i say to them?

I need an answer as soon as possible please

thanksHow can you tell if a teenage boy fancies you?
    * If he wants to talk to you all the time,

    * If you turn around and you catch him looking at you,

    * If he starts acting nicer when you're around him,

    * If he says ';yes'; to all the things you ask him to do,

    * If he treats you differently than others,

    * If he tries to sit next to you at work, in class, at lunch, or play on a team with you during Gym/Recess

    * If he looks at you a lot every time you smile or laugh,

    * If he acts immaturely around you, like poking, teasing or playful flirting,

    * If he seems to always want to hang out with you,

    * If he gets closer with a body part, or if he tries to touch you (e.g. when you touch him he might touch you back)

    * If you catch him peeking at you and he smiles,

    * If he tries to make you laugh,

    * If he tries to copy you,

    * If he tries to keep you in view for as long as possible or tends to look around and stop when he finds you,

    * If he subtly looks at you but makes it look like he is looking at the girl next to him,

    * If he constantly calls you and uses an excuse -such as What was the homework?

    * If he goes out of his way to talk to you (e.g. if he goes to the other side of your school to talk to you because he knows you have a class there),

    * If you see him staring at something by turning his head 90 degrees and when you look at him he smiles and turns away, when this happens, check his pupils, he might have actually been staring at you

    * If he invites you to his birthday party or any kind of party,

    * If you flirt with a friend of his when he can see, and he looks jealous or automatically flirts back, (but don't flirt with them just to find out if he likes you)

    * If he talks to you and wants to know how you're doing,

    * If he is nicer or tries to talk to your friends,

    * If he asks about you to your friends when you're not around,

    * If he asks you to dance with him at the dance. Note: He may be trying to be nice because he thinks you like him. But if you are at a middle school dance, he's probably too vain and self centered of a fraidy cat, so he probably likes you.

    * If he walks past you and tries to look cool so you can glance at him

    * If a guy tries to show you things he got that are somewhat expensive (e.g. a cellphone) or he tries to impress you,

    * If you notice when he gets out of class and starts to walk a little slower than usual, then he's trying to give you the opportunity to talk to him!

    * If he always talks to you there's a great chance that he likes you.

    * If he feels so awful letting you down that he lies.

    * If he would do anything to spend more time talking to you (e.g. if he talks/texts to you until 2:30 in the morning).

    * If you realize that he ignores you when your looking but when you look out of the corner of your eye, he turns back around to look back at you,

    * If he's talking to his friends and nodding like he's paying attention but you realize he's not, he's actually been staring at you the whole time!

    * If he walks down the hallway (at school) and he ';accidentally'; bumps/touches you, if he moves your chair or pulls your hair etc.

    * If he ignores you almost completely. For example, when you call his name he does nothing, but when your friend does, he pays attention. This is because he might be embarrassed or not sure how to approach you. Be careful, though, he might ignore because he just flat-out doesn't like you!

How can you tell if a teenage boy fancies you?
Patience young Skywalker. Keep being his best friend. Sooner or later if he likes you you'll end up in a situation where something will happen.
Have him over for tea and crumpets.
Well maybe he does like you or (fancies you)
he likes u, im 14 trust me

My 17 year old daughter wants to travel to Thailand next summer to visit our former exchange student.

The family she is staying with are wonderful people, but I am concerned because my daughter and her friend will be going to day trips into Bangkok. Should I be worried??Is it safe for an American teenage girl to travel in Thailand?
    Don't worry.

Now that OJ is behind bars, the world is safe again. Is it safe for an American teenage girl to travel in Thailand?

As long as they go to places where there is a lot of people, Do not go walking on the beach late at night alone, I believe the family she is staying with will watch her and guide her in what she can do or not to do. I believe that Bangkok is safer that most American cities.

Good Luck, Have fun and smile!!
Your daughter should be fine staying with a Thai family .

Going for day trips to Bangkok in the company of her Thai friend , should be reasonably safe . They are likely to go to central shopping areas , where they are not likely to encounter any danger , more than any other big city market ot shopping centre . I would assume the Thai girl knows her way about , and is sensible . They should be sure to return home before dark , about 6:30pm , not to explore industrial and perifery zones .

I don't think you should be worried . Central Bangkok is a fine modern city with subway , buses , taxis etc . to get around . On the street taxis are very cheap , thais generally know which ones and can speak to the driver .
Your daughter will be as safe in thialand as she will be back home. The thai are a great people and I am sure the family will surely take care of your daughter as you have taken care of theirs.

I would think the family probably have the same issues when their daughter went to stay with your family ... and I am sure she ture out ok.

Give your daughter a chance to see the world and with someone to take care of her you can 'rest' a little. Just tell her to give you a call each night etc ... that would make you feel better.

Oh and dont worry about clubbing ... the legal age is 20 in thailand and everyone's ID will be check. I am 40 and they still check mine ;)

    Cheers
as a mother you have every right to be worried however if these people are as wonderful as you say, then your daughter will be in good hands. am sure the family will look out for her especially when they take the day trips. being from thailand they know what to look out for and what to avoid.
    No. Don't worry
Thailand is pretty safe. tghe people are wonderful people and they do actually help look after strangers if there are problems arising.

The family she will staying with will go all out to ensure that she has a good stay and safe too, so you need not worry too much.
    No

I don't regard Thailand as a 'safe' country. the homicide rate is nearly twice as in US.
Yes it is, especially as she will be staying with a Thai family. There are so many wonderful things to see in Bangkok that I doubt she will see them all in the time she has here. I have travelled extensively throughout the world, and Thailand IS one place I'm happy to be after dark. I cannot say the same for most European countries and I would not even think about extending my travel experiences by visiting america -- I know it's not the same everywhere in america, but gun crime, drugs etc., etc., makes it very off-putting
No but tell her to be careful just incase
Go with her.this is the sex fpr hire kidnapping capital of the east, Its a nice vacation for you and your wife. Let her visit days with the old friend and tavel the countyside in a car you can rent/

    OR SAY NO. don't sacrifice your child in the attempt to retain the title ';coolest dad';
I think she will fine and enjoy to travel in Thailand

Sex trade industry in Thailand is not around BKK. There are specific place. I thought your daughter will not go there. Your daughther is 17 year old, she cannot go to pub in Thailand.
i would worry more if she was going to america or europe. Your daughter friend is thai and i am sure she know the way around here. she will be fine.
Hi, i just travelled to Bangkok alone last month for 6 days. It is safe for her to travel alone. Just watch out for guys who gets friendly with her and keep a distance (i was warned, but never encounter such problem.) Other than that, there's no imminent danger for her as a lone, female traveller. Need not worry!
I visit Thailand every year as my girlfriend is thai, though Bangkok is not on of my favourite places, there is more beautiful places to visit, we do spend time there and have never had any problems, if she is with local thai people she will be ok as the are very clued up on local tricks, pick pockets can be a problem just keep money and passport in a small zipped bag under clothing and she won't have a problem, from experience less crime than most capital cities eg usa or europe.
Yes, you should! The locals are not the main danger, Thailand has an active sex trade industry. Pedophiles and other perverts flock there to engage this trade. It also has one of the highest rates of communicable STDs in Asia.

Teenage girls would you date a guy that is taking online classes his senior year of high school?

I am taking online classes this semester so i can graduate a semester early and ever since i told the girl i like she has been really distant. BTW we go to different schools.Teenage girls would you date a guy that is taking online classes his senior year of high school?
I would because online classes and normal ones are the same thing unless the reason for you taking the online classes is one that she doesnt like. If thats not the case then she's just very childish.Teenage girls would you date a guy that is taking online classes his senior year of high school?
personally i dont like internet classes... it shows that youre almost ';unmotivated'; to go to school... that can turn a girl away pretty quickly... the whole ';unmotivated'; thing.... but if you still go to school and do those courses after to finish early.... then thats fine... its a plus actually. or maybe... its not even because of that. you never know.
I dont see any problems about that, maybe she feelsshy of something
There is nothing wrong with that. Love doesn't care where u take ur classes its a matter of the heart. She may be not that into u
Uh, why would that even matter?

What causes eating disorders substance abuse teenage pregnancy and juvenille deliquency?

Human nature. Simple as that. Further elucidation on the subject would require far more time, effort and space than is reasonable to take up in a forum such as this. What causes eating disorders substance abuse teenage pregnancy and juvenille deliquency?
There isn't one cause. Some people who come from dysfunctional families are inclined towards these things. Others come from great families but they have the same inclination -- who's to say where it comes from. If you want to talk metaphysical, perhaps karma or past lives have something to do with it.

Also, teenagers have a long history of getting pregnant, and in some societies it's still the ideal, so let's recognize how culturocentric the assumption about teenage pregnancy is.What causes eating disorders substance abuse teenage pregnancy and juvenille deliquency?
    Hah! What a loaded question!

Eating disorders are caused by lots of reasons, from low self-esteem to peer pressure. Pregnancy is caused by intercourse. Delinquency is caused by lack of proper discipline and structure in children's lives. Once you give a kid the tools to be a productive member of society, you can be pretty sure children might go through a stage in their teenage years, but for the most part they'll turn out okay if you equip them properly.

Teenage father asks: How in the world do you be a Good Parent?

Everyone says the the problem with kids (ADHD, Obesity, Violent gun rampages etc...) are because of bad parenting. My child already has the mistake of being born to young %26amp; horny idiots, how do I lessen, or avoid other mistakes, and give her the chance at life she deserves.Teenage father asks: How in the world do you be a Good Parent?
You love her and try to teach her from your mistakes. Sounds like you are on the right track by the way you asked your question. ADHD is wiring in the brain that is not quite right, it doesn't come from bad parenting. But misbehavior is from bad parenting. You have to become an adult...and quick. Expect her to behave herself and correct her when she doesn't. Show patience and love. Stay away from anger and negativity. This goes for both you and the young mommy. I hope that you and the mommy are together providing for your daughter together. Love each other, care for each other and your daughter will learn from this. Forgive yourself for being ';young, horny idiots'; and learn to love the life you have created together. Best of luck to you. Love love love...that's how you become a good parent...love everything around you and love your life...the good times and the bad times.Teenage father asks: How in the world do you be a Good Parent?
Start by considering what she needs first in every single decision that you make. That doesn't mean that her *desires* always com first, but it does mean that her *needs* come before your own *desires* in life.

Every night, before you go to bed, think over your day with her. Did she learn anything new? Is there anything that you need to work on teaching her tomorrow?

Talk to her mother about all of this. Try to come to an agreement regarding you goals for her %26amp; your plans to acheive them. Treat her mother with respect. Try to understand each other and work together with love towards your child.

Set a good example for her to follow in your own behavior, all of the time. If you make a mistake, apologize, fix it and learn from it. Try to change any of your bad habits, while teaching her the best way to deal with life. Learn along with her.

Love yourself. Make choices that allow you to love yourself. Be gentle with yourself. Laugh a lot. These are all things that you will want her to do. So, do them yourself, so that she will learn how.

Let her experience joy in her days. Let her build a strong foundation in her life of happiness and security. With a foundation like that, she can make herself into anything she wants to when she grows up.

Encourage her curiosity. Answer her questions with honesty and respect, with words and ideas she can understand. Get to know her well, as an individual, so that you will know what she can understand. You'll be surprised at how intelligent children can be.

Enjoy being her parent. Let her know you enjoy it. It is an awesome thing to do, to help guide a whole, real person from brand new to grown up. Be amazed by it. Be proud of your role as her parent.

    Have fun.
by being a good man. remember that she will marry someone just like you, even if you are a dirt ball.
At least you care, that's great.

Don't say things or make promises you don't intend to keep.

    Especially since she's a girl. Girls w/absent dads end up with all the bad guys ';lookin for love in all the wrong places';

Kids will hold on to promises for dear life. I still remember things my dad promised or said he would do and never did. You think that set me up for accepting disappoint from men?heck ya.

Like I said, at least you care. The child really needs both parents.
Just the fact that you even ask the question shows that you have a fighting chance. As with most things, finding someone to mimic is a good thing. What do most successful people say is part of the key to their success? They had a mentor, someone who was an example for them. Seek out other father's who are involved in their children's lives and ask for advice. I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't spare you a moment or two for that! You will be her example. Think of how you want her to grow up and what you would like for her to experience because she will be learning from you. I wish you the best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sounds like you're off to a good start by caring. I think that is wonderful. Good luck! Although I think you don't need it because it is within you.
You sound like you are gonna be ok to me, Mom of 3 here and let me tell you it isn't easy. You are gonna make mistakes and so is she, it is what you do with those mistakes that is important.

You know what is right and wrong, Make rules for her and for yourself. Then live by them no exceptions. She is going to watch you. The best thing a parent can do is to teach by example.

If you are honest, She will be honest. If you are caring and compassionate so will she.

Don't worry so much I think you will be just fine and let me say just one thing I am real proud of you for standing up and taking responsibility for your child and caring enough to want to do it the right way. God bless
The hardest thing a teen parent has to do is to put the child first. Face it, you're still almost a child yourself and you want to enjoy life, but this child you have fathered has needs that won't allow you to be a kid.

If you can do this and love her more than your own life, you will be a successful parent.

I almost forgot the most vital advice I was given: the best thing you can do for your child is to love her father/mother. Their feeling of safety and security is dependent on seeing their parents love each other.

Lots of luck and God's blessing to you.
Thank you for taking responsibility for your actions. I'm proud of you! The best thing I would suggest is to just be there for your child now and in the future - be involved. Also take it one day at a time - hope that you have good support behind you. Good Luck!
You are already on your way to being good parent........Knowing that as parents we don't know everything and wanting to be a good role model means more than having all the right answers. As parents we all make mistakes....Kids don't come with a set of instructions. You don't have to be perfect, as long as you know that you are doing the best you can thats all that really matters. Parenting classes are a good idea if you are still worried.
take parenting classes. read books. love her. guide her. be there for her. teach her good habits %26amp; manners. teach her how to communicate constructively. teach her to love herself.

What do you think of a teenage boy that wears these glasses?

Me and my friend just moved from New York, New York to a small town called Wacon, Iowa. Here are a lot of farmers and such but we were wondering what people would think of us at school and stuff? Because they are very in style at our schools in New York. Here is what they look like. http://www.hiphopwholesale.com/media/SG278GREEN.jpg

How many parents still spank their teenage children?

If they still do, do they use any impliments? How many parents still spank their teenage children?
    Yes.

Belts and hairbrushes are common, and as long as it's ';just enough'; to make the point and not hitting at full strength (which can be abuse...) it can be effective. I got the belt several times last year, and they were all for things that deserved it (at least in my dad's mind) but the most imprtant thing is that my parents' love for me was ALWAYS there. How many parents still spank their teenage children?
spanking a child with an implement if classed as child abuse in Australia and rightly so, so i hope none of you use implements.

spanking a teenager in Australia is classed as assault as rightly so, what right to do you to spank a person of age, treat them as a child and they will act like one.
I'm not ';anti-spanking';, however, I've found other punishments that seem to work a bit better, but under NO circumstances would I ever spank my 15 year old daughter. To me, that would be like hitting someone of my age and size, just because they did something I didn't like. Teenagers are young adults and yes, they should be disciplined if they have done something wrong--not by spanking though.

As far as implements go--that is just wrong, in my humble opinion.
    Not enough I would say.

My Mom used to say when I protested I was too old to be spanked:

    ';When you quit acting like a child, you will be too old for a childish punishment';

Although it didn;t happen very often, just knowing that my behavior could result in a meeting with Mom and her hairbrush, definitely made a difference
    impliments like paddles?

well no not usally (well my parents dont) see i'm 16 and they usally ground me from my truck or computer for a week or a month (depending on what i did) and that usally keeps me out of trouble because not having a vehicle is miserable!!!
okay well im 17 well about to turn 17 on the 25th and i havent had a spankin since i was like 14 or 13 and to tell you the truth the average teenager doesnt really get effected from a spankin they look st there parents as if the were crazy for even trying llz
yeah i'm 16 also. i don't get spankings or do i get grounded. i just get screamed at. spanking a teenager will only make that teenager act worse and then hate you for life.
Yes i still smack my 14 years olds bum when she deserves it, i refuse to let my daughters to grow up into the yobs that we have in society today.

    Louise
spanking teenagers dont usually work out to well, they know enough to hit back. and if they are to scared to hit back then that parent must have beat the crap out of them which would be child abuse
More than you would imagine ..using belts hairbrush's ETC ..

The only reason to use impliments is to cause more pain and that is the wrong reason
If they use a TOOL, it is so that the spanking will be as effective but over more quickly.

    .
I am 15 and get spanked. My mom uses a wooden spoon.

well, when I was young, I discovered my dad's porn stash and absolutely wore it out. :-)

I wouldn't worry about it too much though, as long as your stuff isn't too fetishist. It's important that kids get a realistic idea about sex, and most porn isn't very real, so you should probably explain a couple of the differences, and that your stuff is private.
depends on what happened... did she freak out? was she confused? was she embarrased? was she into it?

does she understand porn and why you look at it? i guess just talking to her about it would be a good start.
you can install software like NetDog Porn Filter : http://www.netdogsoft.com on your daughter's computer, it blocks all porn quitely and automatically when she's on the internet.
    depends on what was happening

give a cheer and shout that's my baby right there and than show the neighbors to show how proud you are of her
She could probably explain a few things to you... Those precociously experienced teens...
Slip her $20.00 and tell her to forget what she saw and to come back in 45 minutes.
    Nasty

If you don't mind her being there then it's okay. But according to the law she deserves punishment.
Tell her mommy doesn't do that anymore she is retired.
Take a cut from her pay
Oh no she di-int! She better NOT be cheatin on me!!
you see .... in cases like this if your erection lasts longer than 4 hours please consult your shrink.
LOL I would ask her for more room and board money since she turned pro
    She did not...

    i'm whooping her @$$....

she was not suppose to go there with....

why dont you tell me these things i gotta read them in Y!A..

What is up with all these teenage girls on here asking if they are pregnant?

My momma would have kicked my butt if i had sex when i was a teenager. What is wrong with kids these days. I know i am not that old but my god why are they having sex and getting pregnant at such a young age? I am 25 years old and i just started having sex on my 20th birthday.

I feel sorry for all these teenagers that are pregnant and for their parents for not steping up and telling them about sex and pregnancy.

Please tell me why a teenager would be having sex without protection from pregnancy, std's and aids? What is up with all these teenage girls on here asking if they are pregnant?
Either because they do not care or they think their kids are angels and wouldn't be having sex. It is a crying shame. What is up with all these teenage girls on here asking if they are pregnant?
im not and i havent a clue why my agemates are.
its really sad. and some arent even teenagers yet! but if they want to do adult stuff, they gotta act like an adult if a serious consuquence arrives. and usually they state that the father doesnt want anything to do with the child, so it makes it even harder. but some of the best mothers are teen mothers

    -hetty♥
i started haveing sex when i was 14.. im now 17 and still with the same guy. i guess it all depends on how mature they are, and if they know how to keep safe
My parents told me, i make my boy friend wear a condum! I'm 16 and just lost my virginity. My mom told me all about all that stuff its the teenagers failt they dont listen
Okay, first off, I am a teenager. But I'm a virgin...so here's my assessment of the situation.

Teenagers in general think they're invincible, ';Oh, that would never happen to me. I'll never get caught.'; They smoke, they drink underage, they have sex even though it's illegal at their ages. They don't think they'll get caught, so why not have fun, right? That's why they have sex without protection...

Also, the teenage girls have sex because they think that they are in love (not saying some aren't...) and feel that sex=love and love=sex. Boys, on the other hand, just have a very strong sex drive and don't feel the need to overcome it. And boys, being the dominant sex, feel that condoms are for wooses. And say ';Don't worry hon, I'll never let you get pregnant.'; Well guess what, it's not their choice!

lol, so basically, teens feel invulnerable and are rash and sometimes don't consider the consequences. (me included...)
I feel the same way you do. I have two little sisters that are in their teens. I told them that although it's fun, there aer dangers to having sex. Nowadays, parents feel like if they don't talk to their children about sex, the child won't learn about it. Kinda like don't ask, don't tell. From my own experience, I chose not to start having sex until I was done with college. I didn't have to worry about anything! I made sure my sisters know the ins and outs of sex. Anything can happen to anyone!!!
i agree. not saying i am innocent. i started at 17 but was on birth control and condoms never got pregnant till 19 but me and my husband have been together for 4 years. now im almost 21 we just got married after my son was born
    because they don't know any better. or they do know better, but have the typical teenage attitude of ';it can't happen to me';
I sure they know right from wrong. But, I guess they don't care. Until it is to late.

How much does one year of teenage growth affect intelligence?

Hi, i'm 14 and am a freshman and i have a friend who's 15 who's also a freshmen. He's a year older than me. I was wondering how much of a advantage he has because of his age in school. So how much does one year affect teenage brain growth and how much of a advantage does he have? thanks a lot. I would prefer some empirical studies to back up any answers please. How much does one year of teenage growth affect intelligence?
Your question overlooks some premises that have to be understood in terms of intelligence.

Intelligence can refer to two things:

    Aptitude and Ability.

Aptitude is your ability TO learn.

Ability is what you already can do.

There is biological ability - the amount of grey-matter you have in your brain to form connections - generally aptitude.

There's environment - an environment that either stimulates or inhibits growth - generally your ability.

You can have high aptitude but live in among a bunch of people who stifle your growth and have low ability.

Age is not the only determinant

Your brain is still growing as a teenager - but it varies so much from individual to individual there isn't a hard and fast rule.

A year of teenage growth is HUGE though in terms of brain growth and development.

Although age is NOT a predictor of advantage.

Go to www.apa.org and poke around in there and see what you find. How much does one year of teenage growth affect intelligence?
I guess it really depends on how much you try to learn, He's probably more mature than you.

How would you view the american teenage generation?

I am doing a project for my class and I need at least four or more people to answer HOW WOULD YOU VIEW THE AMERICAN TEENAGER (16-17) I would like for these age ranges to mostly answer from 23 and up 50 and up and 5-12 please help me with good responses and if you can kindly leave just your FIRST name and age I would really appreciate it!

P.S. if you are new to this country I would also love to hear what you think as well. How would you view the american teenage generation?
    Jeff

    46 y.o.

American teenagers are lazy. They tend to ask others to do their homework for them on Yahoo Answers all day %26amp; night instead of reading a book. How would you view the american teenage generation?
It varies, but I think teens these days , from the age range you've given me, need to follow rules more. However, I have not bee a teenager (in the 16 to 17) age range in about ten years so...yeah it's been awhile.

I really don't think it's a good idea to generalize too much though but I'm sure many of them are hard working and want a good future for themselves and they do try, but some of them lose track and that is what your parents are for. Listen to them.

What's the best brand of jeans for a size 00 or 0 teenage girl?

I am a relatively skinny 14 year old girl and I have yet to find a brand of jeans that fits me well. abercrombie kids jeans fit me fine, but american eagle jeans where i shop never have size 00 or 0. (HOLLISTER TOO.) And i would rather not buy online because i want to know what they look like on me. Are brands of jeans that are made for skinnier girls? Thanks for all of you help! What's the best brand of jeans for a size 00 or 0 teenage girl?
i would try citizens of humanity and 7 Jeans... :o)What's the best brand of jeans for a size 00 or 0 teenage girl?
I know how u feel, lol (I'm 15, 5'3, 92 pounds and size 00) I've looked every where for jeans and I finally found some that fit me perfectly at Aeropostale. Here's the link:

    http://www.aeropostale.com/family/index.鈥?/a>

    Hope I helped =]
abercrombies the best i have the same problem im 14, 5'4 and 103 pounds and i can never find jeans abercrombie is the best but pac suns jeans are good if you have average length of legs my legs are super long so i cant wear them but i used to and they run small and fit perfectly and are a good deal
american eagle does have good small sizes but it's unfortunate that they don't have your size. I am pretty skinny too and ae jeans are my favorite! if you find one pair of jeans at ae like a 0 or 00, then you can order online afterwards. they are basically all the same sizes, good luck!
Tripp from HotTopic I find fit me well. Arizona makes good fit as well. I guess it all depends on your style though. You might be able to find some nice fitting pants in Situation. But it's like I said, it all depends on you r personal style, and your location. And just so you know i'm 16 and just got into ones so good luck. ^.^
roxy and pacsun jeans run very small. if i were you id go to a department store like macys and try on all different brands from there (they have plenty of size 0's and some jeans run smaller than others) to see which fit you best! good luck =)
Both me and my sister are skinny but I am slightly fatter and we always find the perfect pair of jeans at Charlotte Russe! They are comfortable and good fitted! All my friends always ask me where I get my pants and they love wearing them because they are so comfy
I always like the pacson jeans. They have like o and double 00 in all kind of jean styles they also have in all kinds of lengths long short regular.

    hope i helped
Aeropostale jeans usually fit me (I wear a zero) I know you said you don't like shopping on line, but some sites have free shipping and you can return them if they don't fit.
I have found that I do well with Arizona Jean Company. You can find them at any of the department stores like JCPenny's or Macys
I'm really skinny too. I have 2 brands of jeans that fit me- Angels, which you can get at Kohls and Bullhead, which you can get at Pacsun.

    Good luck!
Vanity jeans feel like they're custom made.

or try AE. They offer a very wide variety and a variety in sizes.
I like Charlotte Russe Jeans, Hydraulic ones are comfy and fit well, they dont flatten my butt like many other brands. I also like the jeans at wet seal. I am quite picky about jeans.
    Hollister or aeropostale or ltd2
hollister, considereing thats about the only size they carry.
diesels definitly... if you are willing to pay the price. but they are SO worth it, it would last twice or three times as long as any other jeans.
you are probably just going to have to stick to hollister unless you want a cheaper brand of jeans.
    hollister usually has 0!

    try Papaya or aero,

    uhhh.. maybe even levi jeans
    Urban Outfitters.
    7 makes jeans your size.

I believe they sell them at nordstrom.
Urban Outfitters has skinny jeans. Maybe those would work.
I'm skinny too and i usually get my jeans in H%26amp;M. Their slim line is fits me very well.
Get jeans that say ';Slim'; on them I wear size 00 too, but i get my jeans from hollister and they always have them...
im a 00 and delias fit fine :]
delias jeans fit me good =]
    A%26amp;F
    pacsun maybe
uhm...your gonna have to gain weight.

    or go to kohl's

they have nice jeans.its worth it
    Geez you are skinny. xD
    anyone you like
    damn gain some weight

What are common problems of a teenage girl?

I'm looking for as many problems that a teenage girl would have to face and please be detailed if possibleWhat are common problems of a teenage girl?
Oh my there's so much. Here's what I faced:

    1) Accepting myself, and my body

    2) Being made fun of

    3) Trying to fit in

    4) Trying to stay out of drama with girls

    5) Dealing with Cliques

    6) Dealing with girls with no mind of their own

And so much more. So many guys just rejected me and I had low self esteem. All the other girls got more attention, and most people were mean to me. I enever really fit in and was a lone most of my younger years. I grew up with a negative view on social life and soooo that's just ME...some people turn out normal. What are common problems of a teenage girl?
My best friend went to a different HS than me so that was really hard. I struggled w/ confidence. Also, I wanted to know my parents were proud of me. Boys were an interest so you'll deal w/ acceptance and rejection issues. Maybe being upset and confused that you don't know what you want to do after HS. Esp. senior year many get overwhelmed about money and what is going to happen after graduation. Road trips! Can't think of anyting else right now.

  • Is it possible to curb my teenage son to 2 hours a day internet use?

My teenage son is on the internet 24/7! Now I understand that this is the way forward, but he comes out of the shower soaking wet to check his messages.

When he uses the toilet he forgets to flush, as he's so eager to get back to the PC.

Is there a way to limit his time on-line as I'm at work all day.Is it possible to curb my teenage son to 2 hours a day internet use?
You must use a parental control software like Net Nanny or http://www.parentalsoftware.org/.

See some review of those software here: http://www.consumersearch.com/www/softwa鈥?/a>Is it possible to curb my teenage son to 2 hours a day internet use?
You can set up a password and time limit on the computer. He can know the password and once he logs in he has 2 hours and then when he is on the computer for 2 hours it will log him off and will not let him back on the internet even with the password it will say your daily time limit is up
You can look into putting a block on it if you can not get him to listen when you are not at home. Take other things that he likes that are important to him to let him know that you mean business. If talking does not work I dont see any other way to get thru to him. I dont know the block thing works but I once had a friend that did this for almost the same reason. You can ask your cable company to help you with this. Good luck!!!
it depends....i guess the easiest answer is to put parental settings on the computer so that the user can't use the system without the password- this can be done in the control panel. just make sure you use a password he can't guess. or you could cut off the connection- take away the ethernet cord or remove the wireless connection from the computer and change the password so he can't access it without you entering a password. of course this won't work if there are unsecure wireless networks within range he could use instead.
Try the various 'baby sitter' programs and safeguards mentioned. If he gets around them, threaten to pack up the computer in a box and put it in the basement. If this doesn't stop him, do it! Remember the old days when we actually went outside and played sports and games and interacted with other people? What a concept!
Yeah my dad bought me this child thing for the pc. It basically let you set what time your aloud on i.e say if hes on for two hours, after the two hours is up, it turns off the internet completely. Just check out for child safety on google
You could password protect your computer and put in the password for him at the times you wish to allow him access to the internet.

If you let me know your operating system I can probably give you directions for this.

Keep in mind that tech savvy teenagers are can be fairly difficult to block from computers. While something like NetNanny might work, don't be surprised if he finds a method to get around it. Kids get smarter every day...

If he aint off in 2 hours turn the computer off with the fusebox. Just find out which one does the upstairs sockets. LOL
tell him the time hes got and if he goes past tell him hes got ten mins to log off .... if he dosnt pull the plug ,he cant say you wernt fair!.
If he PC is in his room take it out!
When you say teenager, how old would help to know.

Also, kids talk online like we ( I am 39) used to talk on the phone- for hours abuout nothing. However, this peer communication is essential for teens to develop their sense of self, community, and learn social ins and outs. If your son wanted to have 8 or 10 people in the house while you were at work, would that be okay? I have seven kids of my own from 19 to 3 and there is no way on this green planet that would be okay with me! LOL

As long as he is taking care of first things first-school, chores, health- AND the sites or chats he is visiting are appropriate, think of this as just another development stage- like potty training, walking, talking were. Now he is honing his interpersonal and descision skills the same way- trial and error.

Be careful about logging his chats or spying in any way. If you break his trust now, you will create a chasm that will not be easily if at all filled between you. Also, unless you suspect drugs or weapons stockpiles, you don't want to be privy to his conversations with his peers. Remember when you were a teen? You have to be a parent for sure, but you also have to give him respect as a budding individual.

I always say and it bears repeating, I would rather care for 7 newborns than 1 teenager. Good luck! Enjoy watching him navigate his way into adulthood. If you can be levelheaded (I know easier said than done) you'll be as amazed at the process as when he was learning to walk.

Are you tired of all the teenage girls pretending to be mothers in the parenting section?

Take for example: This girl named Hayley Claire- she has a 4 month old daughter, and is pregnant with a child due in 3 months. Hey Hayley- Darling, that's not possible.

It's getting a bit annoying, but hey, this is just what I think. What about you?Are you tired of all the teenage girls pretending to be mothers in the parenting section?
I think there should be a YA Answers kids can access, and I think there should be a YA for people over 18 to cut down on the extreme amount of trolls or bored children posting nonsense answers to things they know nothing about. I'm tired of the kid drivel littering up this site. Are you tired of all the teenage girls pretending to be mothers in the parenting section?
Yeah, parents need to keep a closer eye on their little trolls. I am also annoyed by the fact that they attempt to give advice to parents when they have no experience.
well i think you have to take all the advice you get on here with a grain of salt.
Yes, and since you have called her out she will probably change her profile name.
I no what you mean. Wiht my kids there is certain areas that they can not enter. You can tell when they are kids sometimes by how detailed they get.

ON thing i really don't like is kids saying that there 25 or some age on chat sites... thats what really gets me going.
What is really crazy is to hear the advice the 13 year old girls have for us on parenting issues. It reminds me of when I was 13 and thought I knew everything.
as sad as it is, i would rather them be online pretending to have children than be out having actual children.
Maybe she adopted her child. Ever think of that?

Either way, you shouldn't take Yahoo Answers so seriously. These aren't professional opinions.

Ahh... I see. The ones that bug me the most are the obvious spanking fetishes that describe in GREAT DETAIL how they spank their chidlren or ask how you spank your children, etc. I find it disturbing to say the least.
Like anything, you have to be wary of what's posted online! It's - sadly - not all real.
Whatever advise is given, consider it carefully. Opinions are like *******; everyone has one.
are u sure she did not mean 14months

What is the going rate for teenage babysitters in the Midwest on a Saturday night? ?

We have a Christmas Party to go to tonight from 6:00pm-Midnight. We are hiring my Niece who is 18 yrs old to babysit our 4 kids, ages are 9yrs, 8yrs, 4yrs and 2 1/2yrs.

We have never hired a babysitter and really need some help! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!What is the going rate for teenage babysitters in the Midwest on a Saturday night? ?
I usually get paid around $10 an hour. Since that is a large number of kids (well, not really, but for a babysitter) you may want to pay her a little bit more than that. What is the going rate for teenage babysitters in the Midwest on a Saturday night? ?
10 years ago when I was babysitting in Michigan, I got about $7 an hour for a typical night - 2 kids, 7-11 or so, give them dinner and get them ready for bed.

4 kids and 6 hours I think I agree with the Chicago person at least $50.00.
For four kids for an 18 year old I would say at least $7 an hour. We are outside of Chicago and that is probably what I would pay her. Actually, now that I think about it for 6 hours, 4 kids I would give her at least $50.
I'm guessing around $7 and an additional $1 per child.
Ask people you know who hire babysitter, or ask your niece how much she charges.

What is a good book about teenage love, sex, and life in general?

So i read one amazing book this summer and it was amazing! It was called Hearts Delight. It was about a boy who feel in love and was slowly destroying everything that made him fall in love with this girl. Is there any similar genes? What is a good book about teenage love, sex, and life in general?
Well theres this book called ';Summer Sisters'; by Judy Blume and theres ';Lost It'; by Kristen Tracy and the ';Gossip Girl series'; books by Cecily von Ziegesar are all packed with teenage love, sex, and life..... i hope you read the books i mentioned!! :)What is a good book about teenage love, sex, and life in general?
-Blood and Chocolate Annette Curtis Klause (an amazing book- about a werewolf who falls in love with a human guy in school but a werewolf that recently became alpha of her pack likes her too)

-Angel with Attitude by Michelle Rowan (about a fallen angel who falls into a pool at marine world and then later meets a demon whose soul purpose is to lure in fallen angels into hell)

-How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake, book 1) by Kerrelyn Sparks (about a vampire named Roman who broke his fang and needs the help of a human female dentist to fix it before the hole closes without the fang)

-Sirena by Donna Jo Napoli (about a mermaid named Sirena whom with her sisters sing songs to lure in sailors. they need to make love to a human man in order to become immortal)

-Heart of Stone (The Negotiator Trilogy, book 1) by C.E. Murphy (maybe not as much romance as you like in it but it's about a lawyer named Margarit Knight who meets a guy named Alban while jogging in the park at night and the next day hears about a murderer on the news that sounds alot like Alban. later he comes to her for help to clear his name and reveals to her he's a gargole)
Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas

The main character is a teen boy whose life fell apart (serious girlfriend problems and divorced parents lead to his downfall). To graduate from high school, he writes the story of his downfall (and finally heals). It really is hilarious. I read it because I was thinking about teaching it, and I couldn't put it down.
umm.. this book is kinda old and it depends on your age. i read this book in 4th grade and i loved it.. Its called

I definitely agree with Genetic, It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini is the perfect book for what you're looking for. It's actually my favorite. Plus the cover is even captivating.
There is a whole series called 'Fearless' it has love, sex and life in general. It is probably one of the best series of books I've ever read. It is written by Francine Pascall.
My favorite classic is ';Forever';, by Judy Blume. It really caught the gritty realities of first-time sex, and the emotional confusion that teenagers feel as they grow and mature.
There are many amazingly wonderful novels out there that have to do with ';life';, but nothing to do with teenage love and sex.

    Also, great name! :)
I read this book called It's Kind of A funny story.

Which has most of what you mentioned above.
